Fun

Drink of England, Wells Bombardier, in association with English Heritage, undertook a nationwide search to find the Champion of England - a wonderfully English person that makes this country what it is. The winner was Frank Basey and he was presented the title at a gala lunch on St George's Day, by another Champion of England - Sir Geoff Hurst, who was not only part of the 1966 England World Cup-winning team but also the only player ever to score a hat-trick in the final.

OUR WINNER FRANK BASEY

Frank Basey

Joined by his faithful dog Tess, 68 year old Frank walked from Lands End to John O’Groats raising money for the Royal British Legion. The two and a half month long epic journey allowed Frank to raise over £5,000 for the cause that supports those serving or veterans of the Armed Forces. His determination represents the millions of people that give up their time to raise money, no matter how little, for the hundreds of good causes in England.
